The new Creator goes live on 5 September 2026. Until then you can try it at next.rehabguru.com - everything you build there is separate from your live account. Use the Give feedback button in the banner to tell us what you think.
The Creator has been rebuilt. Instead of moving through four separate pages to put a programme together, you now build the whole thing on one screen and publish it from a panel that slides in over your work.
Alongside it there is a second, more powerful builder; Advanced Programming, for anyone who plans in weeks rather than in a single list of exercises.
Nothing you have already made is affected. Your templates, saved programmes, exercises and past prescriptions are all exactly where they were, and your old bookmarks still work they simply open the new Creator.
What's changed at a glance
One page instead of four. Templates, Exercises, Settings and Publish have been folded into a single Creator screen.
Exercise parameters are edited in place. Sets, reps, load, rest and notes are set on the exercise row itself, as you add it.
Publishing is a guided panel. Who → When → How → Send, in a drawer that opens over the programme so you never lose sight of what you are sending.
A new Advanced builder for week-by-week plans, with supersets, circuits, %1RM loads, automatic progressions and deload weeks, and a choice of free-form or date-based scheduling.
Building a programme on one page
Open Creator from the sidebar and you land straight in the studio. There are two areas: the library on the left and your programme in the centre.
The Creator studio - library on the left, the programme you are building in the centre
The library panel
Exercises tab - search the Rehab Guru library, your own exercises, or your favourites. The filter chips narrow results by difficulty, equipment, muscle, movement, aim and joint, and any filters you have applied are listed underneath so you can clear them one at a time.
Templates tab - browse your templates and your team's, or paste a past prescription ID to pull an old programme back in. You can load a whole template or cherry-pick individual exercises from it.
Click an exercise to add it to the programme, or double-click it to preview. On the My Exercises and Templates tabs, Select turns on multi-select - click to tick rows (cmd-click for several) and add, share or delete them together.

The programme list
Set the parameters on the row. Expand an exercise to set sets, reps, weight, rest, tempo and a note. There is no separate Settings page to visit afterwards.
Reorder by dragging. Pick a row up by its handle and drop it where you want it.
Edit several at once. Tick multiple exercises to apply the same parameters across them or remove them in one go.
Name it as you go. The programme title sits in the top bar - click it and type.

Publishing: the Publish drawer
When the programme is ready, click Publish. A drawer slides in over the page with four short steps, and a progress summary so you can see what is still outstanding.
Who - choose the client or clients, create a new client without leaving the drawer, and link the programme to a case.
When - set how long the programme runs, either as an end date or a number of days or weeks, and choose what happens when it finishes.
How - prescription notes, symptom tracking and outcome measures, PDF attachments, privacy options, and any practice-management integration you have connected.
Review and send - a final check of what is being sent, then send it. The arrow beside Publish programme also saves the plan as a new template, updates an existing one, or downloads a PDF.

Everything the old Publish page could do is still here - PDF export, saving as a template, share links, cases, reporting and integrations. It is the same set of options, gathered into steps.
Advanced programming: planning in weeks
A flat list of exercises is the right tool for most rehab, using the simple Creator. It is the wrong tool for a twelve-week strength block.
Advanced programming is a second builder for exactly that: a grid of weeks and days that you fill in, progress and re-issue as the client moves through the plan.
Open it with the Advanced editor button in the Creator top bar. To switch back later, use the ... menu in the advanced toolbar and choose Switch to simple builder.
There is no library panel in the advanced builder. Each day has its own search box - click + Add exercise on the day, or press N - and the results flag anything already in the programme, with Filters to narrow them. Enter adds an exercise; Shift+Enter adds it and opens its parameters. The Templates menu in the top bar can load a whole template into the plan or add one to the day you are working on.
Free-form or date-based. The toggle in the top bar decides how the plan is scheduled. Free-form is the default and lets the client work through the days at their own pace. Date-based pins the days to calendar dates from a start date you pick, and the day headers change to real dates.
The week grid - every week and every day of the plan on one screen
Three ways to look at the same plan
Week grid - the whole programme at a glance, weeks down the page and days across. Drag exercises between days, copy a day and paste it into next week, mark rest days and deload weeks. Right-click a day (or press and hold on a tablet) to open, copy, duplicate, clear or delete it, mark it as a rest day, or give it a colour; the same menu on a week offers duplicate, progress from this week, insert an empty week, mark as deload and add a day, up to seven per week.
Day - one session in full detail, with the set table for each exercise.
Progression - one day laid out across every week side by side, so you can see and edit how the load builds. Pick the day with the tabs above the grid, or choose Show all days, and use Tab to move down a week and roll into the next.
Day view - the set table for a single session
Sessions, sections and blocks
Each day can be split into sections (warm-up, main, cool-down - call them what you like), and each section holds blocks:
Standard - a single exercise with its own sets.
Superset - exercises performed back to back, labelled A1 / A2 automatically from their order. Configure on the block sets the rest between rounds.
Circuit, AMRAP, EMOM and Rounds for time - for conditioning work, with rounds and timing handled for you. Blocks are added from the row at the foot of a day: + Superset, + Circuit, + AMRAP, + EMOM and + RFT, alongside + Section and + Note.
Every set row carries reps, load, rest, tempo and RPE. Loads can be a fixed weight or a percentage of the client's 1RM - record or estimate a max once and the whole plan calculates from it, and bodyweight (BW) is accepted as a load too. Press Enter on an exercise, or right-click it and choose Edit params, for a quick params box where comma-separated values spread across the sets (10,8,6) and + Add param adds extras such as times per day or a timed hold. Every edit can be applied to this exercise only, to this and later occurrences, or to all occurrences in the plan.

Progressions and deloads
Rather than typing out twelve weeks by hand, build one good week and progress it.
Open + Progressed week under the grid, then set the percentage per week and how many weeks to add. Choose what should move - Auto, or load, reps, time, sets, rest or RPE - along with the kg step, a rep floor and ceiling and what happens past it (reset and add a set, or reset and add load), a cap on working sets, and whether warm-up sets progress.
What comes back is a proposal grid: every generated week laid out in a table before anything is committed. Edit any cell you disagree with, keep your deload weeks as they are, then apply the lot in one step.

Built for fast authoring
Type instead of clicking. Set parameters in shorthand 4×8 @ 62.5 kg, rest 1:30, RPE 8 and they are parsed into proper set rows.
Right-click anything (or press and hold on a tablet) for the actions that apply to it - a set, an exercise, a block, a day or a whole week.
Copy and paste days, weeks and exercises, across views as well as within them; undo and redo up to 50 steps.
Edit every occurrence at once. Change an exercise's parameters just here, from this week onwards, or everywhere it appears in the plan.
Press ? at any time for the keyboard shortcuts.
Shortcuts worth learning: N adds an exercise to the selected day, Shift+W adds a week, cmd+D duplicates whatever is selected, and cmd+Enter copies a cell's value into every set below it.
Preview, publish and re-issue
Preview shows the plan exactly as the client will see it in the app, a week at a time, with a Copy as text button if you want it as plain text.
Publish opens the same drawer as the simple Creator - Who, When, How, Send. An advanced plan carries its own week-by-week schedule, so the When step has nothing to set.
Save a new version when you change a plan a client is already working through. They keep the same programme, their history stays intact, and you can look back at any earlier version.

Common questions
Do I have to use the advanced builder?
No. The simple Creator is the default and is all most people will ever need. The advanced builder is there when you want it.What happens to my templates and saved programmes?
Nothing — they are all still there, and they load into the new Creator exactly as before. My bookmarks point at the old pages.
They will keep working. Old Creator links open the new one automatically. Can I still export a PDF?
Yes. Turn on Attach PDF copy in the How step to send one with the email, or use the arrow beside Publish programme and choose Download PDF.Does it work on a tablet or phone?
Yes. On smaller screens the library moves behind a floating + Add exercise button, and the advanced builder supports press-and-hold in place of right-click. The week grid scrolls sideways on a phone, so Day view is usually the easier way in.Why can't I change sets and reps in the list once I have used the advanced builder?
The week-by-week grid owns them, and the list view says so in a banner. You can still edit each exercise's title, description and images there. Use Open advanced editor to change the plan, or flatten it from the banner if you would rather go back to a plain list.Do the days have to fall on set dates?
Only if you want them to. Free-form lets the client work through the days at their own pace; switch to Date-based and every day is pinned to a calendar date from the start date you choose.

We would much rather hear about a problem before launch than after it. While the preview is running, click Give feedback in the banner at the top of the Creator, or start a conversation with us from the messenger in the bottom corner of the app.
