Creating a new Exercise

This guide walks you through the process of creating an exercise in Rehab Guru.

Step 1: Access the Exercise Creator

  • Navigate to Creator and select Exercises.

  • Click the Create Exercise button at the top left.

Step 2: Enter Exercise Title, Description, and Tags

  • Title: Provide a descriptive title for the exercise to make it easily identifiable.

  • Description: Add a detailed description of the exercise. Describe steps, intended outcomes, or any necessary notes.

  • If desired, use the AI generator to create an automatic description (see Step 3 for instructions).

  • Tags: Apply relevant tags to improve searchability and organisation:

  • Equipment (e.g., "no equipment" or "resistance band")

  • Difficulty (e.g., "beginner," "intermediate," or "advanced")

  • Exercise Aim (e.g., "strength," "mobility," "balance")

  • Body Area (e.g., "lower body," "upper body")

  • Other: Any additional keywords that may help locate this exercise later.

Step 3: Add Media and Use AI Description Generator (optional)

  • Upload Images or Video: Click Upload Image or Upload Video to choose media from your device.

  • Please note - allowed file types for Upload are as follows: png, mp4, gif, MOV, jpeg, jpg, webp. If your file is not in the correct format, you may need to convert the file to one of the suitable types. There are plenty free online tools which can do this for you.

  • Generate Description: After adding media, click Generate to create an AI-generated description.

  • Manual Entry: You can also manually type a description if preferred.

Step 4: Configure Team Permissions and Data Protection (if needed)

  • Team Permissions:

  • If you’re in a team, you’ll see options to make the exercise viewable and/or editable by team members.

  • For sole users, these options won’t apply.

  • Patient Data Protection:

  • If the exercise includes client-specific media or data, select Exercise Contains Patient Data.

  • Choose the client from the drop-down, or create a new client if needed.

Step 5: Save the Exercise

  • When finished, click Save to add the exercise to your account.

  • Find saved exercises by navigating to My Exercises.

Step 6: Edit the Exercise (optional)

  • To make edits, go to My Exercises and click Edit.

  • You can modify the title, description, tags, media, or data protection settings.

  • Click Save to apply updates.

By following these steps, you can efficiently create, customize, and secure exercises in Rehab Guru, making it easier to organize and locate them in the future.
