What changed. Telehealth Pro is now free on every Rehab Guru plan and no longer uses credits. Telehealth Lite is being retired, so choose Telehealth Pro for any new telehealth appointment type.
Rehab Guru has its own video calling service for telehealth appointments, called Telehealth Pro. Calls run in a web browser or the Rehab Guru Client app and are end-to-end encrypted, so there is no need for a separate Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet subscription.
This guide walks you through creating a Telehealth Pro appointment type, booking a session with a client and joining the call.
Step 1: Creating a Telehealth Pro appointment type
Go to Account, then Appointments, then Appointment Types, and click New appointment type.
Adding a new appointment type
In the Meeting Type drop-down, choose Telehealth Pro.
Give the appointment type a Name your clients will recognise, such as Online Consultation, then set the Duration, Price and Description.
Click Save Changes.
Choosing Telehealth Pro as the meeting type
Telehealth Lite still appears in the list, but it is being retired. Pick Telehealth Pro, which gives you the full video service at no extra cost.
If clients will book this appointment type themselves, add it to your appointment hours as well, otherwise no times will show for it. See Setting up Appointment Hours (Booking and Exceptions).
Step 2: Booking a telehealth appointment
Book the appointment as you would any other, from the Diary or from the client's profile, and choose your Telehealth Pro appointment type. See Booking Client Appointments.
Rehab Guru creates a unique meeting link for the booking. If the client has an email address, their confirmation email includes a Join Video Call button.
Step 3: Joining the call
Open the appointment in the Diary. The Meeting section shows the link for the call. Open it in a modern web browser, such as Chrome, Edge or Safari.
Your client joins from the button in their email or through the Rehab Guru Client app.
Finding the meeting link on a Diary appointment
The call opens five minutes before the appointment's start time. Each link is unique to that appointment, can only be used once and is private to that client, so only share it with the client and anyone they invite.
When the call opens, your browser asks for permission to use your camera and microphone. Click Allow. If you missed the prompt in Chrome, go to Settings, then Privacy and security, then Site settings, then Camera.
Use the camera and microphone icons in the controls at the bottom of the call to turn them on or off. If you have more than one camera and cannot see the option to switch, refresh the page.
Before your first real session, book a test appointment with yourself as the client so you can check your camera, microphone and connection.
