In Rehab Guru, there are scenarios where you may need to merge two client records. This can happen when a client has been created twice by mistake or when different team members have created the same client under separate records. Here is how to merge clients in these situations.
Common Use Cases for Merging Clients
Duplicate Client Creation: You may have accidentally created the same client twice, such as creating two records for "Adam Jones" by mistake. Both client profiles may contain treatment notes, exercise programmes, or forms, which you want to combine into one record.
Merging Clients Across Team Members: If two team members have created separate records for the same client, possibly using slightly different names, you may have different treatment notes, exercise programmes, or forms in each profile. Merging will help consolidate the data into one profile.
Steps to Merge Clients
Navigate to the Client List: In your account, navigate to the client list to see all the clients in your system.
Select the Merge function: Hover over the options button and select Merge Clients from the dropdown list.
Selecting the Options button for merging clients
Choose the Client to Merge With: Select the first client you want to keep (e.g., "Andy Jones"), then choose the second client to merge with (e.g., "Andrew Jones").

Confirm the Merge: Click Merge and confirm the action. The data from both clients, including treatment notes and exercise programmes, will be combined into the first client's record.
Search for the Merged Client: After the merge, you can just search for the second client. You should see that this record no longer exists, as it has been merged with the first client (e.g., "Andy Jones").
Once merged, all relevant data from both clients will appear under the first client’s profile, ensuring no information is lost.
Benefits of Merging Clients
Data Consistency: Merging ensures all client data is consolidated into a single profile, preventing duplicate records.
Improved Collaboration: In team collaboration scenarios, merging clients simplifies record-keeping and avoids confusion when team members work with the same clients.
