Connecting Cliniko to Rehab Guru allows users to easily manage client records, share notes, and upload exercise prescriptions directly to Cliniko patient files. Follow these steps to set up the integration and streamline your workflow.
Step 1: Setting up the Cliniko Integration
Navigate to Integrations
In Rehab Guru, go to Account > Integration and select Cliniko. You will need your Cliniko API Key and subdomain.Get your API Key in Cliniko
In your Cliniko account, go to My Info.
Scroll to API Key and click Add an API Key.
Name the key “RehabGuru,” then click Copy next to the API Key and Done.

Paste your API Key in the Credentials box in Rehab Guru.
For your Subdomain, return to the Cliniko login URL and copy the text before “.cliniko.com” (e.g., “rehab-guru.au1”).

Cliniko Template ID (Optional)
Practitioners (non-admin users) may need a Template ID. Contact your Cliniko Administrator for this ID, or locate it in the Treatment Notes section of their Cliniko Settings once they have assigned a test prescription. The Template is created the first time you assign an exercise programme, so this step is required before the template will show on the administrator's Notes Template page in Cliniko.
Connect
Click Connect to establish the integration.
Step 2: Enabling Cliniko and Rehab Guru as connected Apps
In Cliniko
Go to Settings > Integrations and scroll to Connected Patient Apps.
Enter “RehabGuru” for the App Name.
For the App URL, input
app.rehabguru.com/patient-cliniko, then click Save.

Client Record Navigation
Once linked, Cliniko will display an Open in Rehab Guru option in client records, allowing you to access the Rehab Guru profile directly from Cliniko.
Step 3: Uploading Exercise Programmes and Treatment Notes to Cliniko
Access a Cliniko Client in Rehab Guru
In Rehab Guru, go to Search Cliniko and enter the client’s name.
Click Import to bring the client data into Rehab Guru.
Assigning Exercise Programs
Choose the client and set up the exercise program in Rehab Guru.
Select Write to Notes to send the exercise program directly to the Cliniko client record.

Automate Uploading Prescriptions
For automatic uploads, go to Account > Preferences in Rehab Guru and enable Write Prescription to Integrated Notes.
Choose the default prescription status: Draft or Final.
Additional Notes for Practitioners (Non-Admins)
If you’re not an admin in Cliniko, you may need to enter a Template ID to complete the integration.

Your admin can provide the Exercise Prescription Treatment Note template ID or you can locate it in the Treatment Notes.
