This guide was updated in October 2026 for the latest version of the Rehab Guru Client app. If you would rather use a computer, see Viewing and completing an Exercise Programme as a Patient on the Web Portal.
The Rehab Guru Client app lets you follow the exercise programmes your clinician sends you on your phone. You can watch each exercise, log your sessions so your clinician can see how you are getting on, and look back over your progress.
Prefer to watch? This 2-minute video shows what patients see, first in a standard home programme and then in an advanced week-by-week programme, including logging each set.
Downloading the app
Go to the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) and search for Rehab Guru Client. On the App Store the app is listed as Rehab Guru, with a dark blue icon and Rehab Programme Feedback App underneath. Install that one. Rehab Guru Pro is the app for clinicians, so you do not need it.
The email from your clinician also has download links at the bottom.

Adding your programme
There are three ways to get your programme into the app.
From the link in your email
With the app installed, open the email from your clinician on your phone and tap the programme link. It opens straight in the app.
With your Programme ID
On the Welcome screen, find I have a Programme ID.
Enter the Programme ID from your email and tap Access Programme.
If your clinician has protected the programme with a PIN, you are asked for it next. Enter the PIN they gave you and tap Submit PIN.
With your email address
This loads every programme your clinician has sent to your email address in one go.
Tap Access Programmes via Email.
Enter the email address your clinician sends your programmes to and tap Send Verification Code.
Enter the 6-digit code from the email we send you (check your junk folder if it does not arrive) and tap Verify & Access Programmes.
All your programmes are selected. Untick any you do not want, then tap the Add button at the bottom, for example Add 3 Programmes.
Adding a programme from the Welcome screen
To add another programme later, tap Add New on the Home screen, or go to Account and tap Add New Programme.
Finding your way around
The bar along the bottom has four tabs:
Home shows how many sessions you have logged this week and lists Your Programmes.
Programmes lists all your programmes, with how many are active and closed.
Progress shows your sessions and scores over time.
Account is where you add programmes, set reminders and find help.
Viewing your programmes on the Home screen
To remove a programme from the app, swipe it to the left and tap the bin. This only removes it from your phone, not from your clinician's records.
Viewing your exercises
Tap a programme to open it. Use the switch at the top to choose how you see it:
Step-by-Step shows one exercise at a time. Tap the numbers to move between exercises.
Overview lists every exercise on one page.
Each exercise has a Video and Images tab, the sets, reps or time your clinician has set, and step-by-step Instructions. Use CC and Narration to turn captions and the spoken instructions on or off. Exercises with a time have a built-in timer you can use as a stopwatch or countdown.
If your clinician has added notes, they appear under Prescription Notes. If they have attached documents, tap the paperclip to open them. If they have set how often to do the programme, it is shown above your exercises, for example Perform on weekdays.

Logging a session
Logging a session records what you did and shares it with your clinician.
Tap Start Session. A bar at the top shows how many exercises are done, a timer and an End button.
When you finish an exercise, tap Mark as Done. If you cannot do it, tap Skip.
Marking an exercise as done during a session
Record Feedback opens. Check the Done column against your clinician's Plan and change any numbers if you did more or less. Add a note if you want to, then tap Save Feedback, or Skip to move on.
If your clinician has asked you to rate how you feel, for example your pain or fatigue, you are asked to score it on a slider at the points they chose.
Recording what you did after an exercise
When every exercise is done or skipped, tap Finish & Save. To stop early, tap End, then End & Save to keep what you have done, or Discard without saving.
You will see Session saved successfully! once it has gone through.
Only one session can be open at a time. If you start a session in a different programme, the app asks you to save or discard the one you already have open.
Logging a session you have already done
If you have already done your exercises, tap Quick Log at the top of the programme. It steps through each exercise in turn so you can check the numbers and add notes. Tap Next to move on, or Skip for any you did not do, then Save All at the end.

Programmes set out week by week
Some clinicians set out your programme in weeks and days. In that case you see a list of weeks, with each day's session and any rest days. Today's session is marked Today when your programme has dates.
Choosing a session in a week-by-week programme
Tap a session to open it. Each exercise lists its sets with the TARGET your clinician set:
Change the DONE and LOAD numbers if they differ from the target.
Tap the circle when a set is done. Tap it again to undo, or hold it to skip the set.
Use Add set if you did an extra one.
When you have finished, tap Finish workout.

Tracking your progress
The Progress tab shows how you are getting on. Choose This Week, This Month or All Time to see:
how many sessions you have logged, your Total Sessions and your Day Streak
a chart of your activity over time
Outcome Trends, if your clinician has asked you to rate things like pain
Session History, a list of your recent sessions
If you have more than one programme, tap a programme's name at the top to see just that one.
Reviewing your sessions on the Progress tab
Setting reminders
Go to Account and tap Reminders, then Add Reminder.
Choose a Time and the days under Repeat on, then tap Save Reminder.
Allow notifications when your phone asks. You will get a Time for your exercises notification on the days you picked. Tapping it opens your programmes.
Use the switch on a reminder to turn it off for a while, or the bin to delete it.
Connecting Apple Health or Health Connect
On the Progress tab you can connect Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android) to see things like your daily steps, activity and sleep alongside your sessions. Rehab Guru only reads this data and it stays on your phone. To change what is shown, go to Account and tap Health Data.
Your account and data
There is no login. Your programmes are saved on your phone. In Account you will also find Need Help?, Support, Accessibility and Data & Privacy. Clear All Data removes every programme from your phone, after which you can add them again with your Programme ID or email address.
If something does not look right
Programme Closed means your clinician has closed the programme. Contact them if you still need it.
Update Required means the programme uses something newer than your version of the app. Update Rehab Guru Client from the App Store or Google Play.
For anything else, see Troubleshooting the Rehab Guru App or webpage.
